Is the Master Cleanse potentially harmful to your health?

Is the Master Cleanse potentially harmful to your health? I am doing the master cleanse now, but I am reluctant to tell people that I am doing this because I got such poor support when I became a vegan. Now I want to change over to a diet of organic whole foods, mainly raw foods. I wanted to cleanse my body before changing my diet again, as the master cleanse suggests it does. Has anyone experienced any negative experiences with the master cleanse?Is the Master Cleanse potentially harmful to your health?
my dad, brother, and my dad's friend all did it and besides being hungry a lot they were fine. good luck.
