If starvation diets don't work, why do so many models do it? atkins, south beach, master cleanse?

Seriously? Atkins, south beach, master cleans, they are all diets that people do and typically consume less than 500 calories a day.

The Atkins diet does not restrict your calorie intake in any way honey, just your carbohydrate intake. The high protein and fat intake along with ketosis kill your appetite, stopping over eating. If you do what the books tell you, you'll be eating about seven portions of fruit and veg day on it. It's not as unhealthy as people make out. The South Beach diet is emphasises eating good fats and low GI carbs, not starvation. And it's also pretty healthy.





Starvation diets are a BAD idea, as they can cause organ damage and they murder your bone density. You'll find most celebs go low carb, low GI or vegan to cut down on the calories. model and actresses also commonly have eating disorders (though they dont usually admit it till years later) keep in mind it isnt only their diet keeping them thin. they have personal trainers that ordinary people cant afford, as well as the money for cosmetic surgery if they need it.
Because they work.....


Doctors and nurses or whoever don't want you to know that.
Because they cant handle dropping weight by dehydrating themselves like professional fighters. Wussies.
Do you want to be healthy or rail thin with health problems like bad breath, ulcers, frails bones, and no energy? These diets can be very harmful! Especially in the long run because your body is not getting the nutrients and calories that you need to function!





Look at what happens to anorexic women. This is sad and a serious mental problem that women and young girls must realize that anorexia is self-abuse.
not true. atkins is a high protein diet. lots of meat, eggs, etc. no bread. you can eat a lot on that diet. it gets your body into ketosis, and that's why it's called the ';bad breath diet.';





south beach is a healthy diet, eating whole grains, vegetables, etc. you certainly eat more than 500 calories.





i'm not that familiar with the master cleans.





models and actors do diets because of the stupidity of the business. that's also why there are a lot of models and actors who are bulimic or purge themselves. you will notice that a lot of actors are not the most stable of people. i am a charater actor, and i do not eat only 5oo calories a day. of course, i am overweight, but ... so what?
Because those skinny bodies that look good on tv %26amp; screen earn them big bucks.
Because it changes your metabolism. Your body needs a certain amount of vitamins and minerals to work correctly. If they don't get it then it starts to take it from muscles and vital organs. So you get skinny; BUT, when you start eating again, your body says...';I know what she's doing, she's going to starve me again, I'll save EVERYTHING!';. The key to success is not going on a diet, or going to your favorite sculptor, it's following that boring pyramid and exercising regulary. A really awful example is a woman named Karen Carpenter. Although she was different because she suffered from AN, she is a shining example of what happens when we starve ourselves. Or you can take a look at the tabloids...they're up, they're down, up, down....
They do it because they know that once their looks go, no one will like them anymore. A very sad existence.





I saw a documentary with a model/actress who was on this crazy diet, she was super slim, size 2. Then there was another women who was about size 7-8...healthy, exercised, eat sensibly. When the doctor measured their body fat and what was going on in their arteries, he found that the size 2 had more body fat (compared to muscle) and her arteries were twice as clogged as the size 8. The size 2 was skinny, but she had no muscle mass...and was very unhealthy.





When asked if she was willing to eat better and exercise, she said no, being skinny was more important then her health. I found this shocking. No matter what, you will lose your looks one day....why sacrifice your health? It is one of the reasons I because Vegetarian, I wanted to healthy lifestyle, not a diet.

at the end of the day what you put in you mouth you have to burn off.





it can actually be detoxing for your body to not eat for a day...





people go wrong with diets because they do not full there body with enough food or the wrong foods and end up pigging out on the wrong foods.





also if you want to lose weight you must make sure your body is hydrate. drink 3L of water a day washes out all the toxin... this includes fat
