Does anyone have experience with the Master Cleanse?

I have been trying to get this cleanse going, but I feel so sick-so fast it's crazy. I also get soo hungry on the first day.

I'd like a few tips on how to get past the rough parts, to really experience the benefits of this cleanse.

Thanks for your help!Does anyone have experience with the Master Cleanse?
This is a tough cleanse it really stirs up some mucus and pain. I tried it and now my husband does not want me to do it again I lasted 2 - 3 days and he was like ENOUGH. I think if you can make it a week it would be alright.

A friend who has done it said to do some enemas and drink lots of water. Lots of water is key.Does anyone have experience with the Master Cleanse?
From Wiki:

';Nutritionist Jane Clark points to a lack of essential nutrients in this program, citing a deficiency of protein, vitamins, and minerals in the regimen although dietary deficiencies in protein may not lead to the individual showing signs of protein deficiency if it is followed only for a short time. As a result of these deficiencies, including far fewer calories than the recommended amount for health and optimum functioning, individuals on the diet may experience headaches and a variety of other symptoms in the short term.';

If you are using this to detox, then you are wasting your time and money. There is no such thing as detox in this context, it is complete quackery. Your body has evolved over millions of years and knows how to rid itself of toxins. If it didn't, you would be very ill, if not dead. If you ask the promoters of detox fads what toxins exactly are being detoxed, they can't tell you.

For weight loss, again from Wiki:

';Medical authorities say that those who try the Master Cleanse to lose weight will gain it back in time. Beyoncé denounced using the cleanse as a weight-loss program, stating, ';I wouldn't recommend it if someone wasn't doing a movie ... there are other ways to lose weight.'; The Master Cleanse is not recommended by most mainstream doctors, who don't recommend detox diets, considering them unnecessary and potentially dangerous.';

If this Master Cleanse is making you sick, then you should stop it immediately.

';It's an irrational concept, yet an intriguing idea, that modern life so fills us with poisons from polluted air and food additives that we need to be periodically ';cleaned out'; (';detoxified';). Never mind that natural chemicals in our foods are thousands of times more potent than additives, or that most Americans are healthier, live longer, and can choose from the most healthful food supply ever available.'; -- Frances M. Berg, M.S.

';Real detoxification of foreign substances takes place in the liver, which modifies their chemical structure so they can be excreted by the kidneys which filter them from the blood into the urine.'; --Stephen Barrett, M.D.

';';Toxin'; is classic pseudoscience terminology.'; --Ben Goldacre, M.D.

';...these detox programs amount to a large quantity of excrement, both literally and figuratively.” --Peter Pressman, M.D.

The entire concept of a cleanse is a flawed idea that scam artists use to get your hard earned money. There will never be any lasting benefits to this cleanse no matter how long you make it through the schedule. Our bodies are extremely good and removing all toxic materials very quickly. These products often make you sick and any weight loss is temporary. Please don't waste your money or risk your health and happiness.
