I read about Beyonce loosing 22 lbs on this diet. I also read that you drink only water with maple syrup, lemon juice, and pepper.
Has anyone heard anything about this diet? Have you lost weight with it? Is the only weight you are losing from fecal matter that is stored in the colon? Do you lose any fat on this diet?
Also, wouldn't you just gain all this weight back once you start eating? What have you heard about the Master Cleanse diet?
Yes I have hard about it. Ellen Degeneris did a part of her show about it.... She lost like 26 lbs in a short time....What have you heard about the Master Cleanse diet?
You are right, you lose very little FAT on this stupid, idiotic diet. It's just another fad diet, they never work, and you gain all the weight right back when it's over.
Peppery lemonade -- the stupid things desperate people will try!!
I tried it .....for exactly one day. It's horrible. I mean, the drink doesn't taste all that terrible, but it was a pain in the butt to make. I squoze lemons for over an hour just to make a 2 day supply of the stuff. Plus, I'm a caffeine addict, and the withdrawl headache that I experienced was viscious.
Whether or not this diet, or any kind of liquid fast, actually ';cleanses your system'; is subject to debate. One could argue that you're body is only going to store food that isn't used for energy. Thus, if you eat energy-efficient foods (whole grains, fruit, veggis (ie, anything that's high in fiber) as well as lean protein--then your body will have less waste that needs to be cleansed. This brings to mind an old, extremely wise proverb I once heard:
';Beans, beans, the magical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot!';
But I digress. No, I don't think this diet is a good idea....mainly because any extreme diet is a bad idea. I actually came to that conclusion, which is now a principle I stand by firmly, as a result of trying that diet. And yes, you'd gain most if not all of the weight back, quite quickly. Diets of any kind are, by definition, not a long term strategy for weight management. Celebrities who do this kind of thing A) have a posse of medical, nutrition, and beauty specialists on stand-by to make sure they don't die of renal failure or something, not to mention a PR person to put a positive spin on things in case they do, and B) kind of HAVE TO (or rather, are often contractually obligated to) get skinny quick. Us regular women don't. One more reason I'm glad I'm not famous, you know?
it's actually cayenne pepper.
I haven't heard much about it but it's worth a shot for me!

yeah, i saw some kind of documentary about this on tv--they compared this diet next to a healthy eating diet...
the girl that was on this master cleanse diet ended up eating all the pulp and everything just so her body would get more protein becuz she was completly exaugsted and starving to death... it was an experiment, so she has to stick to it..
the problem with these diets is as soon as u eat something normal, ur body attacks it becuz its malnurished and u gain all the weight back instantly, and gain more weight then u had in the first place...
to lose alot of weight quickly---go online, search for daily water intake calculators... drink the right amount of water for ur body weight... eat 3 meals a day of healthy balanced foods, and 2 snacks... excercise 30 minutes a day... if u choose the right foods, u wont go over 1000 calories a day, and ur body will be toned from excercising... ive lost 15 pounds in under 2 weeks; and counting..
breakfast--english muffin with light smart blanace butter, small glass of v-8 berry splash juice
mid morning snack--fruit cup
lunch--tuna and crackers
mid afternoon snack--celery with peanut butter or a kashi almond honey bar; or kashi dark chocolate cherry bar
dinner--baked chicken breast cooked with lemosn and seasonings in water, carrotts, small helping of rice, glass of milk
if u get hungry later; dont eat fruit or something sugary, just a small snack..
thats just a day in the life of my diet, i change it up all the time
I'm on day one right now its going prett good. look on youtube, theres a guy that has all 10 days in one video he said it worked well.
Eh, it's another ';fad'; diet. It's basically another word for the liquid diet.
Technically, this diet barely even cleanses your colon. It runs right through your bladder, and any other junk you add to it will actually just build up right over what's already in there.
I've also heard that Beyonce was taking pills that had her on the toilet quite literally every fifteen minutes and barely ate anything that would run through, so there could be that possibility, too.
With all ';quick fix'; diets like this, you gain the weight back plus more. With this one, you're gaining back the weight in fat and then MORE fat because you never actually lost body mass in this diet.
My friend did this one actually... she did it 3 weeks before the dance. Lost 18 pounds, but looked just the same except very unhealthy. She started eating again and gained 26, went up 3 sizes.
What happens when you do these liquid/starvation diets is your body goes into a starvation mode, and your metabolism slows down to a near halt. It starts to store EVERYTHING it can because it's in the mindset that this could be all that it lives on for the time being.
Stick with veggies, lean meats, and water. I mean WATER, too. 60% of the time when you feel hungry, you're actually thirsty. Drinking a glass before eating will also keep you from making bad eating decisions and from over eating. I'm not saying don't drink soda, tea, or anything else like that; just make it half and half.
Hope this helps, sorry about the rambling =)
